What is IDD?
On Iron Deficiency Day we want people to understand why iron is so important and what can happen if we’re not getting enough, by recognising the symptoms and taking action. By informing people about the importance of healthy iron levels, we will encourage more people to speak to their healthcare providers about iron deficiency and iron deficiency anaemia.
Listen to your body and raise awareness
Your body immediately tells you when things are happening to you – whether you are tired, hungry, stressed or just not feeling quite right. Your body is constantly talking to you, but it is easy to misunderstand the messages it is sending you.
Iron deficiency and iron deficiency anaemia can affect anyone, yet many people are unaware that they have the condition and that their health and wellbeing is compromised. This is why we have made it our mission to raise awareness of the symptoms and the impact of the conditions, so that we give people the tools they need to listen to their bodies and seek the help and guidance of healthcare professionals.
